The Ultimate Cafe Chill Guide
Some visits are about food. Some are about needing somewhere that is not home and not the office. This guide is for the second kind.
The four kinds of chill
A cold coffee, a corner, and no obligation to talk to anybody. Mid-afternoon is the quietest stretch of the day.
A table, Wi-Fi and something to keep ordering so you can justify staying. Bring headphones; the room has a pulse.
Two people, three hours, one plate of something to share that keeps getting re-ordered. This is what the cafe is actually for.
You are early, or somebody else is late. A masala tea and a window seat make that entirely fine.
What to order if you are staying a while
Something cold that does not go bad slowly — a Cold Coffee or a Mint Mojito — plus one small savoury thing you can return to. Cheese Chilli Toast and Crispy Corn both survive being neglected for twenty minutes, which is more than can be said for fries.
